On behalf of the staff at Colton Middle, I welcome you to the 2023-2224 school year! I hope you are enjoying your summer vacation and are getting ready to start a new school year. I am happy that you are a part of our fantastic school community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to supporting your student(s) in their education and working with you and your child(ren) this school year.

SCHEDULE PICK UP:
7th GRADE: Wednesday, July 26th from 8:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 3:00pm
8th GRADE: Friday, July 28th from 8:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 3:00pm

EMERGENCY CARD: Parents must complete a new emergency card at the beginning of every school year. Students must bring the completed emergency card to schedule pick up in order to receive their class schedule. Emergency cards can be picked up at the school office starting July 18th. Or you can print the emergency card from our school website at https://www.cjusd.net/cms

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: All students will receive a 1 ½ inch white school binder and other supplies at the time of schedule pick-up.

DATA FOR SCHOOL FUNDING FORM:

PE CLOTHES:
PE Clothes will be sold during schedule pick up. Transactions are CASH ONLY.
Cost: $30 a set. $15 for the shirt and $15 for the Shorts

7TH GRADE PARENT ORIENTATION MEETING:
Meeting will be held by Mrs. Mac Donald the Principal and Mr. Brian Pope the Assistant Principal.

7TH GRADE ORIENTATION / STUDENT MEET AND GREET DAY:
Friday, July 28th from 8:00am to 11:30am.
Hosted by Webcrew teachers and 8th grade student leaders. Students will participate in hands-on activities, take part in break out sessions to get to know each other, make new friends, and tour the campus.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: Thursday, August 3, 2023
School gates open at 7:30 am for breakfast. Our first bell rings at 7:55 am, and students must be in class by 8:00 am.
On regular days, student dismissal time is 3:00 pm. CMS has an early release every Wednesday. Students will be in school from 8:00 am to 1:15 pm.

PICTURE DAY: Thursday, August 10th.
Students will take their yearbook photo and will receive a school ID card.
Replacement ID cards are $5 and are sold in the principal’s office afterschool on Wednesdays only.

TARJETA DE EMERGENCIA: Los padres deben completar una nueva tarjeta de emergencia al inicio del año escolar. UNIFORME DE EDUCACIÓN FÍSICA:
Los uniformes de educación física estarán a la venta durante la entrega de horarios. Las transacciones se llevarán a cabo SÓLO EN EFECTIVO.
Precio: $30 por el conjunto. $15 por la camiseta y $15 por los pantalones cortos.

ORIENTACIÓN DE 7° GRADO/REUNIÓN DE BIENVENIDA:
Viernes 28 de julio de 8:00 a.m. a 11:30 a.m.
Organizado por los maestros de Webcrew y líderes estudiantiles de 8° grado. Los alumnos participarán en actividades prácticas, formarán parte de sesiones para conocerse, harán nuevos amigos y recorrerán el plantel educativo.

PRIMER DÍA DE CLASES: Jueves 3 de agosto del 2023
La puerta de la escuela abre a las 7:30 a.m. para el desayuno. Nuestra primera campana suena a las 7:55 a.m. y los alumnos deben estar en clase a las 8:00 a.m.
Los días regulares, la salida de los alumnos es a las 3:00 p.m. CMS tiene salida temprana cada miércoles. Los alumnos están en la escuela de 8:00 a.m. a 1:15 p.m.

DÍA DE FOTOGRAFÍA ESCOLAR: Jueves 10 de agosto
Los alumnos se tomarán la foto para el anuario escolar y recibirán su identificación escolar.
El precio por reemplazar la identificación escolar es de $5 y están a la venta en la oficina de la directora después de clases sólo los miércoles.
