CJUSD schools will be closed Monday, March 19th through Friday, March 30 for Spring Break. District administrative offices, including our main District Office will remain open during this time. We wish everyone a safe and happy break and we'll see you back at school on Monday, April 2nd.
Thank you for visiting our Alice Birney homepage. It is with great pleasure that I share with you that we truly have an amazing school where staff genuinely cares about our students and community. This school year, the teachers and I are reading the book Kids Deserve It. It is our goal to make Birney a special place where students feel loved, cared for, are encouraged, and have adults being their biggest cheerleaders. Every Wednesday is #KidsDeserveIt days for our staff where we all wear our Kids Deserve It shirts. It is our way of showing our students and community that we value our students and we put our students first.
We strive to make school a safe, loving, engaging, and innovative place for students to learn and grow. We work hard at being life-long learners so we can give our students the best education possible. We believe in teaching the "whole" child. This means we don't just teach academics, but we teach children social skills, art, technology, sportsmanship, and character development.
It is an honor and privilege to serve as the principal of this amazing school. I hope that you are able to join us throughout the school year for the many events we will be offering for families this school year. Thank you for being our partners in ensuring your child is as successful as we know they can be!
