D'Arcy Elementary School

Michael D'Arcy has been effectively using the Accelerated Reader Program to instill love of reading and to help students improve their reading comprehension skills. The Accelerated Reader program is designed to help students read at their optimum instructional level and be successful readers.

Students choose books that are geared towards their specific reading levels. After reading their books, students take computer quizzes that target understanding of the materials read. Students receive a score based on correct answers, and their scores earn points. Points are accumulated throughout the school year to earn prizes.

Often, parents ask what kinds of books are available for their student. The following links will provide parents with a list of books that students will be able to read and test on. The list is set up in two different ways. You can view the list alphabetically in order to determine if there is a test available for the book your child is reading. Or, you can view the list by book level, allowing you to see the titles of books that are appropriate for your child.
