  • PBIS at Slover Mountain High School

Slover Mountain High School in a bronze level PBIS site. The teachers, staff, and administration work together to ensure students are recognized for the positive acts they do on campus for their peers and for adults. Students are celebrated for being RESPECTFUL, OPTIMISTIC, ACCOUNTABLE, and RESILIENT in their behavior and their academics. R.O.A.R.

Students have the opportunity to earn "Cougar Cash" that they are able to spend in the student store to purchase school supplies, books, backpacks, SMHS gear, and other items of interest. Additionally, students are recognized monthly and at the end of each mini-quarter for the following: Student of the Month, Perfect Attendance, Honor Roll, and Principal's Honor Roll.

Lastly, students have ample opportunities to participate in athletics, clubs, and events with organizations throughout the city and county. The goal is to make sure students are academically successful and become well-rounded individuals who are able to communicate, collaborate, and compete with anyone in society.

    GO COUGARS!!!

    ROAR Expectations

  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Attention is focused on creating and sustaining primary (school-wide), secondary (classroom), and tertiary (individual) systems of support for all students.

PBIS IS NOT a packaged curriculum, scripted intervention, or manualized strategy.

PBIS IS a prevention-oriented way for school personnel to:

    (a) organize evidence-based practices

    (b) improve their implementation of those practices

    (c) maximize academic and social behavior outcomes for students. PBIS supports the success of ALL students.
