Jazz Band is intended for the advanced student musician in grades 9 – 12. This ensemble bill be limited to a specific instrumentation as deemed by the director. The usual set up is 4/5 trumpets, 5 saxes (2 alto, 2 tenor and 1 bari), drum kit, guitar, bass, keyboard and auxiliary percussion. This ensemble will student various forms of jazz ranging from the 30’s big band, blues, rock and contemporary jazz. This ensemble will perform at several scheduled concerts, festivals and community events throughout the school year.
